PITTSBURGH, Oct. 27, 2026
iTransplant® will help strengthen coordination, improve operational efficiency and modernize partner collaboration to accelerate CORE’s lifesaving work.
PITTSBURGH, Oct. 27, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — The Center for Organ Recovery & Education (CORE), the Pittsburgh-based federally designated organ procurement organization (OPO), and InVita Healthcare Technologies today announced a new partnership following CORE’s selection of iTransplant®, InVita’s comprehensive software platform for organ, tissue and cornea donation operations. The partnership reflects CORE’s ongoing commitment to innovation as it advances its mission to save and heal more lives through donation and transplantation.
CORE serves more than five million people across western Pennsylvania, West Virginia and Chemung County, New York, partnering with more than 150 hospitals and healthcare facilities, including seven transplant centers, throughout its service area.
iTransplant will provide CORE with a market-leading platform that centralizes donation workflows and critical information from referral through recovery and donor family aftercare, helping streamline operations and improve efficiency across its organ, tissue and eye donation programs. Its configurable, interoperable design connects systems, workflows and data across the donation process, providing teams and healthcare partners with the visibility and secure access needed for timely, informed decision-making. By strengthening coordination across CORE’s donation network, the platform will modernize partner collaboration to help accelerate its lifesaving work.
The decision to implement iTransplant builds on CORE’s longstanding focus on innovation and operational excellence and comes amid seven consecutive years of growth in lives saved and healed through organ, tissue and cornea donation. In 2025 alone, CORE reported 484 organ donors and 1,191 organs donated for transplantation, a 23% increase in organs transplanted over the prior year.
“Technology and innovation play an important role in helping us save and heal more lives while honoring the generosity of donors and their families,” said Deborah Maurer, RN, MBA, President/CEO of CORE. “As our organization continues to grow, investing in the right technology helps us build on our success, support our teams and healthcare partners and continue providing exceptional care and service throughout the donation process.”
CORE will join a continuously growing community of donation organizations using iTransplant to support mission-critical operations. Used by more than 25,000 medical professionals globally, the platform continues to evolve through peer collaboration, best-practice sharing and co-development with the donation and transplantation community.
“CORE has built an exceptional record of service and life-saving impact, and we’re very proud to support the critical work they carry out every day,” said Wade Liu, President, Human Biologics, InVita Healthcare Technologies. “We’re so excited to partner with CORE in our shared commitment to advancing this lifesaving work.”
