The WaveKraft On-Demand Production System produces packaging on site instead of requiring pre-made inventory to be shipped in and stored ahead of need.
The booth will include the company’s WaveKraft® On-Demand Production System, with a machine that will produce padded mailers and delivery bags on location. TemperPack will also co-present with Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health on Innovation Stage 3 (N-4585) on Monday, Oct. 19, from 1:30 to 2 p.m.
TemperPack engineers plant-based packaging materials that protect like petroleum-based foams and films but are curbside recyclable or compostable. At the booth, attendees can handle the full range of packaging solutions and talk through the qualification process with the team.
On-Site Production
The WaveKraft On-Demand Production System produces packaging on site instead of requiring pre-made inventory to be shipped in and stored ahead of need. TemperPack offers it as Packaging-as-a-Service: customers order and store pallets of proprietary paper rolls, not pallets of finished goods.
The same platform produces mailers, liners, pads, and bags, so operators can switch configurations as product mix or seasonal needs shift. Teams forecast supply in days instead of weeks and cut purchase-order frequency.
Protective Packaging
The WaveKraft Padded Mailer is made with a proprietary paper-based structure that provides cushioning and resists compression. The gusseted design opens wide and holds its shape. That gives fulfillment teams box-like capacity at mailer pack-out speed and replaces corrugated boxes on a growing range of SKUs.
Verified performance:
- Up to 45% better shock absorption than a plastic bubble mailer, measured across multiple payloads.
- Passes testing against ISTA® 6 Amazon Overbox protocols. Independent lab testing conducted by Keystone Package Testing, ANAB AT-3142.
- Carries the How2Recycle® “Widely Recyclable” designation. Goes into curbside paper recycling with no separate collection stream.
- Uses paper from Sustainable Forestry Initiative® (SFI) certified mills. Made with 25% recycled content.
- No plastic bubbles. No glue dots.
“E-commerce has outgrown the limitations of legacy packaging formats,” said Charles Vincent, TemperPack co-founder and chief technology officer. “We engineered this mailer to deliver the protection of a box with the efficiency of an envelope while meeting the recyclability standards brands and consumers increasingly expect.”
Life Science Solutions
The booth will also feature TemperPack’s sustainable life science cold chain solutions, designed to protect temperature-sensitive payloads including biologics, vaccines, diagnostics, GLP-1s, nutraceuticals, insulin, hormones, and animal health products.
The portfolio includes new thermal mailers that maintain 2 to 30 °C for up to 72 hours, as well as GreenCell™ Qualified Shippers offering 36 to 72 hours of protection across frozen, 2 to 8°C, and controlled room temperature profiles. With more than 50 pre-validated configurations available in multiple sizes, the systems arrive with everything needed for pack-out and performance qualification. Custom solutions are also available for specific payloads, shipping lanes, and temperature requirements.
On the Innovation Stage
TemperPack and Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health will co-present “How to Build a Better Cold Chain: Remove Plastic, Gain Efficiencies, and Build Trust” on Innovation Stage 3 (N-4585), Monday, Oct. 19, 1:30 to 2 p.m.
Speakers:
- Chandana Kolluru, Ph.D., senior principal expert in device innovation and sustainability, Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health USA Inc.
- Brianna Mackay, vice president of life science sales, TemperPack
The presentation covers how Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health replaced expanded polystyrene (EPS) coolers across its pharmaceutical cold chain operations. The session walks through the qualification process, the operational playbook for moving a foam-centric line to a recyclable and compostable alternative, and the environmental and business impact of the switch. It is intended for brand owners, packaging engineers, cold chain and logistics leaders, and sustainability teams.
Cold Chain Packaging
TemperPack will show its complete cold chain insulation range, which is curbside recyclable or compostable depending on the material. These formats are built for thermal protection in food, grocery, meal kit, and life science shipments.
- ClimaCell® is plant-based, curbside-recyclable insulation. It is a USDA Certified Biobased Product and has earned the How2Recycle® “Widely Recyclable” designation.
- GreenCell is plant-based, compostable insulation, certified by TÜV AUSTRIA OK compost® HOME and OK compost® INDUSTRIAL standards. It is also a USDA Certified Biobased Product.
- WaveKraft liners are paper-based, curbside-recyclable insulation. They replace foam, denim, and metallized bag insulation in cold chain shipments, and deliver 40% better thermal performance than bubblefoil liners in testing against the ISTA 7E test protocol. Seasonal liner configurations can be qualified and switched on site as temperature profiles change.
